Welcome Reception 8/31

6:30 – 9:00 PM
Golden Cliff and Creekside Patio, Snowbird
Join us at a reception Sunday evening for hors d’oeuvres and drinks where you will enjoy the company of fellow attendees and the music of the Ling Trio. NFO School attendees will be bused from the University of Utah back to the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird for the reception.

Excursion 9/4

1:00 – 6:00 PM
Natural History Museum of Utah
The Rio Tinto Center seamlessly blends into the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. A visit to the Museum allows visitors to explore nature and science in ten themed galleries, and to also step outdoors to experience nature as it’s revealed just outside the building. Excursion attendees will leave Snowbird at 1:00 pm and travel by bus to the Museum. Box lunches will be supplied before boarding the bus to those producing a lunch ticket ($15). Entry tickets to the museum will be provided to all excursion attendees.

Gala Dinner 9/4

6:00 – 10:00 PM
Red Butte Garden and Arboretum
With over 100 acres including display and natural gardens, walking paths and natural areas with hiking trails, Red Butte Garden is the largest botanical and ecological center in the Intermountain West. Wander the themed gardens or hike in the Natural Area where you’ll discover great views of the Salt Lake Valley. Make your way over to the amphitheater area, where you can enjoy a cocktail hour with friends prior to a casual dinner on the lawn and patio. During your meal, you’ll enjoy bluegrass music of The Jake and Rebekah Workman Band. Between musical sets, poster awards will be handed out and the location of NFO-14 will be announced. Those attending the excursion will walk across the road from the Natural History Museum. Other attendees must meet at 5:15 pm near the Cliff Lodge bell desk to board buses to Red Butte Gardens. Attendees will be allowed to enter the garden after 6:00 pm.
